LUMEN Museum of Mountain Photography
People have always been fascinated by the mountains. In the Museum of Mountain Photography LUMEN, this fascination has found a photographic home.
The LUMEN Museum of Mountain Photography was opened on Kronplatz in 2018. On the mountain plateau with fantastic panoramic views of the Dolomites, Kronplatz Seilbahn constructed an exhibition building that is dedicated to the theme of "Mountain and Photography". This resulted in a cultural attraction for locals and tourists on Kronplatz, that contributes to the revitalisation of the region. Ranging from the presentation of historical mountain photography and photographs from the history of alpinism, spectacular sports photography and current documentary and artistic photographic positions, to experimental stagings and photographic installations - the interplay of these different perspectives makes it possible to experience the enormous diversity of the mountain world as a geographical and cultural landscape.
